Intensas auroras boreales: primeras señales de la tormenta solar

Desde la medianoche de este jueves, la Tierra recibe de forma inusual la inclemente fuerza del Sol. Durante su movimiento por el espacio, el planeta se ubicará en medio de un chorro de partículas energéticas emitido por la estrella que gobierna el vecindario cósmico, lo que popularmente se conoce como tormenta o fulguración solar.

Ya desde el martes se han reportado las primeras señales en forma de aurora boreal visible desde varios puntos de Estados Unidos, informó RT en Español: El índice geomagnético K, que cuantifica las alteraciones en el componente horizontal del campo magnético terrestre, alcanzó altos niveles durante la noche de este lunes, cuando las partículas solares bombardearon la atmósfera terrestre».
