La nadadora estadounidense de origen mexicano Anita Álvarez protagonizó el gran susto de la jornada en los Mundiales de Budapest. Se desvaneció mientras realizaba sus ejercicios en la final de solo libre de natación artística.
Un percance que se quedó solo en su susto gracias a la rápida intervención de su entrenadora, la española Andrea Fuentes, que no dudó en lanzarse a la piscina para rescatar a su pupila junto con un auxiliar de emergencia de la competición.
Fueron minutos de mucha tensión en el recinto, en donde la afición presente enmudeció por lo sucedido y se mantenían atentos a tener noticias sobre el estado de salud de la nadadora.
Tras abandonar la piscina en camilla Álvarez se recuperó y se encuentra fuera de peligro, aunque como informó el equipo estadounidense será sometida a distintas pruebas en los próximos días para desvelar las causas del desvanecimiento.
No es la primera vez que le pasa esto a Anita Álvarez, ya que en el Preolímpico rumbo a los Juegos Olímpicos de Tokio 2020 vivió una situación similar con un desmayo en plena competencia.
